I'm assuming they are very similar, accept the black pro mist will change the overall contrast of a scene more than the HBM, especially if changing strengths. For the sake of the argument though I'm only interested in the difference between an 1/8 black pro mist and 1/8 Hollywood black magic. Canon C100 with 24-105 f4L This was shot wide open with the glass held in front of the lens. The filters were Tiffen Black Pro-mist 1/8th, 1/4th, 1/2; Schneider Black Frost 1/2, and Pro-mist 1/4.
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my Intensity Shuttle.![Black Pro Mist Vs Hollywood Black Magic Black Pro Mist Vs Hollywood Black Magic](http://cdn.studiodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/blackpromist2.jpg)
The motivations behind the upgrade are two: 1080p60 capture, and to get free from the driver waltz that comes with USB 3.0 cards (making the Shuttle work with a P9X79 required specific USB drivers and a rather outdated Media Express version).
I was actually going to get a DeckLink Studio 4K, but they day I decided to go for it, I saw the announcement of the Intensity Pro 4K: at half the price and without the need for SDI, I thought it could have been a great purchase, but threads on this very forum made me question it.
Rather than having a cheap product not properly working I prefer a relatively expensive product that works, so I was wondering if anyone with a DeckLink Studio 4K has experience in capturing footage from game consoles (component and HDMI sources) and is running the capture card on a X79 or X99 platform.
Cheers.
